Where All Is Found
Among every habitable planet nestled in the Orion Spur, Where All Is Found, colloquially known as Allhome, is by far the most unique to date; large cobalt deposits enrich the planet’s soil with vibrant hues of blue and green, while frequent tectonic shifts combined with an albedo lesser than other goldilocks bodies result in an extreme climate dominated by thunderstorms and tsunamis that reach over a thousand meters in height. Temperatures stay fairly consistent within a range of 35°C to 40°C throughout the year, the seasons instead marked by a two month dry period and a ten month wet monsoon season.
Geographically, Where All Is Found is classified as an ocean planet, with seventy percent of its surface covered in saltwater, while the remaining thirty percent is split between the Tardispur supercontinent and several mountainous archipelagos.

Tardispur
Tardispur, the planet’s solitary supercontinent, is a largely temperate landmass that spans both poles. Despite the lethal climate wracking its surface, organic life still flourishes in its own alien way. Much of the planet’s biosphere has evolved to be silicon-based, developing an energy-centric diet that’s readily fulfilled by the frequent electrical storms. In regards to indigenous flora, there’s a host of unique specimens: Clusters of photovoltaic shrubs sprout from the ground as mesmerizing obelisks that expel excess energy in the form of airborne static, which is collected by knee-high fairygrasses and jupiter cups to serve as electrochemical batteries during the dry season. Beautiful tropical vistas thrive in areas high in electrical activity, a rainforest of vitreous trees providing nutrients through their expansive root system and serving as protective grounding rods during monsoon seasons. Mountainous plant life include lanternfruit, who derive their nutrients from the cobalt-rich earth safe from tsunamis, their seeds spread by hungry wildlife or lightning rupturing their conductive sacs.
Much like Tardispur’s flora ranging from static-emanating crystals to glassy trees, the continent’s fauna is just as diverse. Instead of photovoltaic activity, many animals depend on the passive cultivation of energy through specialized organs; Microscopic gestalt siphonophores gather to form “ball lightning” that are aimlessly carried by static currents, antlered quadrupeds gather in herds near voltaic shrubs to draw from the excess energy, and burrowing crystalline decomposers enrich the cobalt-addled soil with fresh energy. Although a majority of the ecosystem’s wildlife is docile, predatory animals that source their energy from directly draining exist. Some of the mentioned creatures native to Tardispur include:
- Ethereals, which are capable of both passive electric cultivation and direct harvest
- Cosimos, territorial hexapods that digest energy by grazing on jupiter cups, fairygrass, and immature ethereal cores
- Lithophages, a family of terrestrial mollusks capable of digesting the crystalline structure of Voltaic Shrubs and Vitreous Trees
- Sarcoline Hawks, flightless pack hunters that live in rainforest canopies and undergo estivation during dry seasons
Islands
The Archipelagos of Where All Is Found consist of mountainous outcroppings, plateaued islands, and shoals formed during the dry season. Tidal shifts caused by tectonic fissures churn a broth of mercury and cooled magma that lay underneath the ocean’s saltwater, creating a double-layered sea. While life is unsustainable within the lower mercury layer, with only a few toxin-subsuming Archaea managing to grow, the upper saltwater layer houses a multitude of aquatic lifeforms; Crystalline coral, distant cousins of the voltaic shrub, thrive in nearly all water sources- oceanic coral cling to the sides of islands like barnacles and subsist off filter feeding, while pond coral that live in freshwater sources utilize photovoltaism. Additionally, massive flotillas of seaweed survive through a biochemical reaction comparable to tidal energy by rooting themselves into the planet’s shores to feed.
Though not as wildly diverse compared to ground dwelling animals, the sealife of Where All Is Found is no less stunning. Luminescent zooplankton living on the surface light up the ocean in scintillating hues, coexisting with piscine creatures that possess elongated fins that jut out of the water’s surface to collect lightning. Within the aquatic biosphere, predators are a much more common occurrence in order to account for the low amounts of electrical current dispersed throughout the sea. Herbivorous fish consume crystal coral during days without lightning storms, while others rely entirely on a hunting culture. Some of these creatures include:
- Chartreuse Hawks, aerial relatives of the Sarcoline Hawk that nest on rocky outcrops and migrate to drier climates during the monsoon season
- Water Worms, bottom feeding detrivores that scavenge corpses floating atop the mercury layer.
- Sundowners, impossibly large semi-aquatic omnivores that deliberately beach themselves during tsunamis to feed on uprooted trees and smaller animals inland
Chrysalis Trees
Out of all the alien lifeforms that reside on the planet, both terrestrial and aquatic, none quite compare in scale to the colossal Worldtree. Formally known as Chrysalis Trees, these crystalline structures are monumental in size, some visible from orbit while managing to surpass Where All Is Found’s troposhere, and thought to be the progenitor of all terrestrial life on the planet. Serving as both a biogenerator and battery, their kilometer-deep root system pumps energy into the tectonic mantle while simultaneously nurturing photovoltaic plant life that are otherwise blocked from the sun by its expansive canopy. Opaque crystal bark with a hardness akin to diamonds hides the tree’s flesh, a pseudo-woodlike material with viscous liquid electricity deposits acting as sap.
Apart from their unparalleled size and alien physiology, Chrysalis Trees serve as the cornerstone of an Ethereal’s life cycle. On branches high above the reach of tsunamis and quakes, ethereal cores blossom as fruit that subsist off the tree’s electrical sap. Once they’ve reached an appropriate size, these immature cores shed to plummet hundreds of feet and often find themselves in vast underground caverns supported by the tree’s root system. After a long gestational period that typically spans an entire monsoon season, cores that aren’t destroyed by predation or natural disasters undergo a dramatic change and mature into an ethereal’s final form.
