Alert Levels
Green Alert All clear - No crimes / Minor Crimes / No threat to the station Equipment: Non/Less Lethals are preferred for arrests. The Warden / HOS are permitted to use anything in their locker. Security can request and field mechs to active situations. Any variant of non-contraband melee weapon is fully allowed. Modifiers: Security must have explicit permission from the relevant head before entering the department for anything relating to their duties, outside of immediate risk-of-life. Security can take breaks at will, as long as others are informed. Crew and Departments may not be searched unless there is a search warrant or they are caught engaging in crime*. Warrants should be presented for arrests unless the crime is actively being committed. Detectives can make arrests, but are beholden to security policy. Private Investigators are not beholden to Security policy, but cannot make arrests. *Evidence, facts and circumstances which would lead a cautious and prudent person to believe a crime has been, is being or is about to be committed. Messages: Lowering to/Default Green: "All threats to the station have passed. Security may not have high powered weapons and may not search or arrest without Probable Cause."
Blue Alert Suspicious activity, violent crimes, strong suspicion of developing threats to the station. Equipment: The security mech (Paddy) may now be used freely. Modifiers: Security may field search people without a search warrant. They may bring them to the brig provided that there is approval from their department head. Messages: Raising to Blue: "The station has received reliable information about possible hostile activity on the station. Security staff may have longarms with nonlethals, and may search crew members with authorization from the Head of Security, Warden, or Captain." Lowering to Blue: "The immediate threat has passed. Security may no longer have lethal weapons, but may continue to have longarms with nonlethals. Searches are allowed with authorization from the Head of Security, Warden, or Captain."
Amber Alert Multiple active situations, active threat to the station, large scale loss of security control over the station. Equipment: Mechs can now be used, regardless of circumstances. (excluding the savannah ivanov, and the phazon) Riot Armor can now be fielded. Modifiers Security are expected to drop all personal activity and return to active duty. Security is authorized to do random searches, without informing anyone. However, when entering a department, if you are able to do so and are not currently engaged in an active situation, please inform the department head of your entry. Search warrants and Arrest warrants requirements are waived for the duration of amber alert and above. Messages: Raising to Amber: "A major security emergency has developed. Security staff may have lethal weapons. Random searches are allowed and advised. All security personnel are required to disengage personal activities and come to active duty. Non-security personnel are required to obey all relevant instructions from security staff." Lowering to Amber: "A major security emergency is still underway. Non-security personnel are required to obey all relevant instructions from security staff and submit to requested searches."
Red Alert Critical inability to retain control of the station; Or large scale active threat. Crew militia in effect. Equipment: Lethal/non-lethal limits are lifted,for everyone. Security may deploy savannah ivanovs, or phazons. Modifiers: Able bodied crew are expected to assist security when able, until the threat is neutralized. Crew must submit to any search requested by a security member. Security can enter, passthrough, or raid departments at will, without informing anyone. Crew are fully-permitted to both arm themselves and defend their departments. Messages: Raising to Red: "There is an immediate serious threat to the station. Security may use all weapons available. Random searches are allowed and advised. Non-security personnel are required to obey all relevant instructions from security staff." Lowering to Red: "The station's destruction has been averted. There is still however an immediate serious threat to the station. Security may use all weapons available, random searches are allowed and advised. Non-security personnel are required to obey all relevant instructions from security staff and submit to requested searches."
Delta Alert The destruction of the station is imminent and the threat must be stopped at all costs. Absolute martial law, no restrictions on lethals, arrests, or contraband laws. Messages: Raising to Delta: "Destruction of the station is imminent. All crew are instructed to obey all instructions given by heads of staff or security. Any violations of these orders can be punished by death. This is not a drill." Lowering to Delta: "Destruction of the station is still imminent. All crew are instructed to obey all instructions given by heads of staff or security. Any violations of these orders can be punished by death. This is not a drill."
Gamma Alert Congrats! You have a ZK-Class reality failure scenario! Basically Delta, but SolFed has issued the alert Messages: Raising to Gamma: "The Sol Federation has placed this system under Gamma Alert status. This galactic system is facing a ZK-Class Reality Failure Scenario. Security Personnel is authorized full access to lethal equipment to enforce Martial Law. Failure to follow emergency procedures is punishable by death. This is not a drill." Lowering to Gamma: "The Sol Federation has released Military Command of the station, the Sol Federation has detected and declared a ZK-Class Reality Failure Scenario. Security Personnel is authorized full access to lethal equipment to enforce Martial Law. Failure to follow emergency procedures is punishable by death. This is not a drill."
Epsilon Alert "Attention, attention, attention. Station is now under Central Command" Messages: Raising to Epsilon: "Nanotrasen Central Command has declared the station under full CentCom authority. All CentCom personnel and representatives now hold absolute control of the station and its assets. Crew cooperation is compulsory. Have a Secure Day!" Lowering to Epsilon: "The Sol Federation has released Military Command and action over the station. Central Command is now in full command authority of the station, comply with all instructions from Nanotrasen Central Command staff, Crew cooperation is compulsory! Have a Secure Day!"
Federal Alert Epsilon: SolFed edition Messages: Raising to/Default Federal message: "The Sol Federation has placed this galactic sector under its full command. All star systems within this sector are now under Military Law. Comply with all official SolFed instructions."
Orange Alert Usually treated as a Blue alert, except it's an engineering emergency. Used when events such as the Immovable Rod or the Meteor Storm happen, or other engineering emergencies (think Delamination) Messages: Raising/Lowering to Orange: "A major engineering emergency has developed. Non-engineering personnel are required to obey relevant instructions from engineering staff and are recommended to evacuate affected areas."
Violet Alert Usually treated as a Blue alert, except it's a medical emergency. Used when events such a as Level 7 viral biohazards develop, or something simillar, but it's often used in conjunction with Admin virus events Messages: Raising/Lowering to Violet: "A major medical emergency has developed. Non-medical personnel are required to obey all relevant instructions from medical staff. All crew are advised to wear internals and minimize unecessary contact."
