Antagonist Policy
General Antagonist Policy
By accepting an Antagonist role, you acknowledge that your job is to be entertaining, not to win. Greentext is a mechanical indicator, and should not be your central goal.
- Your actions should support your current objectives.
- You may not leave the Station-Z level once you begin antagonistic action on Station.
- You may request a change of or additional objectives by Admin Help. Staff are not obligated to fulfill this request.
- If your Target is in a Private Space, SSD/AFK, or is outside of the Station Z level, you should Admin Help for a change of Objective. Staff must assist with this.
- You may request that all your objectives are removed by Admin Help. You must provide an outline of your goals for the shift to Staff if you do this.
- You may request additional Telecrystals (TC) or equipment by Prayer. Staff are not obligated to fulfill this request.
Antagonist Opt-In
The Opt-In system exists to allow players a level of sovereignty over how they interact with antagonistic elements. These preferences must be respected when content is directed at an individual.
- No removes you from the Antagonist Objective Pool. This does not make you immune to IC circumstance. You should not interfere with Antagonists, out of respect for the game environment.
- Yes - Inconvenience allows the Antagonist Objective Pool to select you for non-lethal objectives. This also indicates you are willing to be interfered with non-lethally.
- Yes - Kill allows the Antagonist Objective Pool to select you for lethal objectives. This also indicates that you are okay with being subjected to violence that may result in your death.
- Yes - Round-Removal (RR) allows the Antagonist Objective Pool to select you for anything. This also indicates you are okay with actions that result in your total removal from the shift.
Exfiltrations
If you believe Staff are about to send ERT in response to your actions, you may Admin Help and request an Exfiltration. If Staff agree, they will establish the terms and method for your removal from the shift.
Permanent Mechanical State (PMS)
Permanent Mechanical State is a Status that is applied through Policy and IC circumstance which waives the Combat Indicator engagement timeframe protection.
You may attempt to drop the PMS Status by disabling your CI and refusing to return violent contact with your aggressor. You may dodge and attempt to avoid damage during this time.
If someone that is PMS appears to be making an effort to return to a Roleplay State, you should attempt to indulge them. You are not obligated to do so.
Status Triggers
Permanent Mechanical State Status Triggers are conditions in which the PMS status is applied automatically.
- Area of Effect passives such as the Demoralizer mod module, Chaplain Bard equipment, Heretic auras, and similar.
- Anyone repeatedly teleporting or jaunting to escape confrontation
Station Threat
Station Threat is a Status that is applied through Policy and IC circumstance which permits any Crew to engage the Threat as a valid target, following roleplay escalation expectations.
Status Triggers
Station Threat Status Triggers are conditions in which the Station Threat status is applied automatically.
- Anyone that threatens the Station by Announcement System.
- Anyone that the Captain labels SPECIFICALLY as a 'Station Threat' in an Announcement. In it's inverse, the Captain may also remove Station Threat status from anyone the same way.
- Anything or anyone that Central Command designates by Announcement.
- Anyone who causes more than half of the current Security Team to be combat-disabled or deceased.
Special Antagonists
Special Antagonists are a collection of individuals with direct access to the Antagonist system, supported by Staff tools and requested by Admin Help. Staff are not Special Antagonists by default.
Depending on their allowances, they may have permanent access to an Antagonist type, or permission to request Antagonist statuses when the general and recent threat to the Station allows it.
These are unique cases. A list of all currently active Special Antagonists and their permissions can be found on the Discord in #roster. Staff are to verify the position on the roster before assisting.
Special Antagonist Status is only available by offer from a Head Admin. It may be revoked at any time, for any reason. You can get offered this status by being a notably good-for-Nova Antagonist player.
