You spawn with a mini-energy gun and a flash, and you also can always find handcuffs at the Bridge. Using these weapons, make sure to kick out anyone breaking in or who already broke in. In case the situation is dire you can always lockdown the Bridge. And don't try to use the fire axe against intruders, your wimpy coffee-intern hands are too weak to use ''any'' items that require 2 hands to handle them.

Command Policy

As a member of command, you are held to a higher roleplay standard. As such, instances of LRP and violations of the character guidelines will be treated more severely.

General guidelines for all command positions are as follows:

  • You should be competent with your department and aware of its relevant policy.
  • Command equipment and clothing is to only be given as necessitated.
  • Access should not be given out for frivolous reasons.
  • Do not change your job title outside of the titles provided.
  • Access changes are not to be used to promote players to veteran-only roles.
  • Command characters should have filled out records. See here for examples.

Who Can Demote?

  • All heads can demote subordinates within their own department. In the absence of a Head of Staff, the Captain may demote a member of the department.
  • The captain has the power to demote a head.

Acting Captain

  • For information regarding the acting Captain position, check the Captain job page.

Bridge Officer Policy

  • Do not give away or loan your tools.
    • If you do not want to carry them, secure them on the Bridge.

The Bridge Officer

Master of the Bridge and Commander of none, you exist to assist command with shift to shift administrative tasks and maintain the integrity and design of the Bridge. Your power comes from your soft power, as while you may outrank an Assistant you do not have true authority over them. As a Bridge Officer you should spend most of your time at the Bridge.

The Bridge is one of the most secure areas of the station, mostly used by the Heads and Captain to communicate or hide from the chaos of the Station. Diplomatic proceedings, executions, hostage situations, and invasions are all risks that the Bridge faces. The Bridge houses an array of useful tools, consoles, and personnel which makes it a prime targets for intruders.

Responsibilities

Manning the Bridge

You will spend more time on the Bridge then even the Captain, so make yourself at home. You've the true right and the tools necessary to make it a place that represents you and supports your fellow Command personnel. Add machines, make a sofa, setup a coffee and snack bar, stock an assortment of emergency meds, demand that Engineering supply the Bridge with Bluespace APC Cells.

Command is often obligated to assemble on the Bridge due to their job requirements. This will give you ample time to interact with them and offer your assistance.

The Bridge has a ton of consoles that you can use to support the Command staff. For example:

  • Update the Security records of criminals talked about between the HoS and the Captain
  • Watch Suit Sensors and notify if any of the Heads start mysteriously dying
  • Send Announcements via the Requests Console (on the wall) regarding important information to the crew
  • Buy Goodies and other stuff from Cargo with the Command Budget to upgrade the Bridge and supply the Heads of Staff
  • Monitor Station Power because your very important and power inefficient home needs its juice, without delay.

Maintaining the Bridge

The Bridge is the hub where everything to do with Command and it's bureaucracy assembles. Your responsibility is to make sure the Bridge meets your standards of design and cleanliness, and provides the amenities that you think it should. The Bridge is a crucial target for Antagonists, and you should be the first responding in the event of ingress or damage.

You spawn with an advanced toolset on your belt, as your training course taught you how to maintain your workspace.

Keep your Inducer handy. It can be used to charge an APC in the event of a Power Outage. Inducers take Megacells, which you can get from Engineering or Science.

Protecting the Bridge

You must make sure that the Bridge is secure and no unauthorized crew gets in.

Please note that you're not a Security Officer, and you should not care about pursuing people outside of the Bridge!

An Adjutant

Assisting the Captain is the job of all of the Heads of Staff, primarily the Head of Personnel, but most of the times all of the Heads are too busy with their own Department affairs or something else.

Due to this, you're the Right-Hand-Man of the Captain, assisting them with anything they need help with. You are not a bodyguard or second Blueshield, do not behave like one.

Remember to keep up good communication and relations with the Captain, or else you find yourself being more of a nuisance than an assistant to their already stressful job.
