Welcome to Nova Sector! We're glad you took interest in us.

Nova Sector is a Whitelist Community. You must have an approved Access Request, Crew status, and you must remain in the Discord to play on Nova Sector. This page will prepare you to complete that process.

One thing you may quickly notice is that we have a thick packet of policies and rules. Do not be intimidated! Many of the policies in place are there to help staff rule more consistently.

  • We do not expect new players to know every rule right away.
    • Outside of major rule infractions or bad faith behaviors, the staff are here to help guide you towards Roleplaying Excellency.

Required Reading to Apply [~10 Minutes]

A basic understanding of our Rules is necessary to begin playing on the server and participating in the community.

We include secret phrases in the below links to ensure that you have read each section fully.

The Home Stretch - Creating an Access Request

Having read the above links properly, you should now have all the information necessary to complete what we call an Access Request, which is handled by the Access Request Team.

The Access Request is a combination writing and reading comprehension test. Most applications that fully meet our standards at submission should be processed within 1-3 days.

If the team is under load, or your application doesn't meet our expectations and needs refinements, expect the process to take longer.

You're Approved - Grab your Toolbox

Once you have achieved Crew Status, head over to the Server-Info channel on our Discord for up to date guidance on which BYOND Version to use for best gameplay results, as well as the Server IP.

Having Issues?

There are a few methods of contacting the Staff, depending on the sensitivity of the user or the details, and the stage of your application process.

  • If your Access Request is still open, ping the handling admin directly with your question. Only available during the initial application process while your ticket remains open.
  • Admin Help - For use while connected to the Game Server. Accessed by Pressing F1, the AdminHelp verb, or by going to Help > Admin Help in your top bar.
  • #Player-Staff-Chat - For public and non-sensitive questions directed at staff or needing staff assistance. Can be used for technical support in debugging connecting to or playing on the Game Server. Accessed on the Discord.
  • #Open-a-Ticket > 'Open a Staff Ticket!' - For sensitive data questions, reporting problems with other players or with yourself, or for seeking Database assistance. Accessed on the Discord.
