What is a Roleplay Event?

Roleplay events are more general events focusing on the Roleplay of the round with minimal effect to canonicity of both players and server lore. These are likely to be the most common form of event, and have a wide range of possibilities for their content and may include combat as a driver for a story. (Eg. Ballroom appreciation event)

Note: The baseline is that it needs to have people to actively roleplay to continue, even in short form.

How does an event qualify as a Roleplay Event?

• A higher emphasis on roleplay without long-reaching lore/station ramifications.
• Lighter presence of Antags, action, et al. Antags and combat can occur, but this is not meant to be the main focus. Talk to the CIA for assistance with Antag design if needed.
• Using admin powers to create interesting RP scenarios for the crew without fully involving the entirety of the crew in combat.

Roleplay Event Scaling

On Station

Large

Requires Roleplay Event Committee Review. Recommend 2+ Staff by Scope.

Targets the Station at large. Anything indiscriminate. Open invite events fall here.

Anything making a new Z-Level.

Small

Requires Game Assistant Pair+ Recommend 2+ Staff.

Any limited scope. Select departments, individuals, factions.

Off Station

Large

Requires SM+ & Lore Team Review. Recommend 3+ Staff.

Anything that advances pre-existing Lore / Creates or advances a Storyline

Small

Recommend Game Assistant Pair+. Recommend AEC Review.

Anything that utilizes the lore, or otherwise listed under Lore Team Obligations

Roleplay Event Examples

Central Command inspects the station, from large to small inspections

Central Command audits a Command Member (be respectful, GET CONSENT)

Super matter destabilisation

Mysterious object gets delivered on station, science investigates

Another CC inspection (a fake one)

A major trial is held on station, someone is accused of a serious crime. Lawyers, witnesses and a judge are assigned to argue the case

A group of monks or priests arrive on station and want to perform an ancient ritual

CC sends kidnappers to send people to a resort gateway to make everyone take a break

Announced and organized Bureaucratic Overflow
