Staff

All Staff officially represent Nova Sector and it's interests.

Community Staff

These are your general Staff. Most Staff positions are captured by this description.

Overseers

These individuals control the entire show. Functions as a Council.

Staff Overseer

• Directs Staff Operations and Crew Integrity

Policy Head (still an Overseer)

• Develops and polishes Server Rules and Policy. Ensures their correct application
• Insists on having their title the way that it is.

Development Overseer

• Coordinates the Maintenance Team with the Staff Team in conjunction with the other Overseers.

Project Overseer

• Fine tunes and meddles with every single facet of the Community and its offerings that is not controlled by an Overseer.

Staff Manager

Senior Staff who specialize in the mentoring and moderation of all our Teams and the Crew.

• Primary point of contact for day-to-day Staff Operations.
• Assists Head Admins with Community Management. Provides council for the Head Admins.
• Typically specialized for specific facets of Server Administration, such as:
  • Mediations
  • Discord Moderation
  • Access Request Management
  • Staff Training & Management
  • Technical Writing

Project Manager

Administrative Staff Specialists and Team Leaders.

• Oversees and administrates Projects within the Community
• Moderates their own small team of Project Assistants.
• Assists Head Admins and Staff Managers with Community Management. Provides council for the Head Admins

Administrator

Senior Staff. Considered stinky.

• Provides an additional point of contact for Game Assistants needing a judgement call.
• Assists Staff Manager+ with SOP enforcement and Staff Management
• Assists Staff and moderates Game Assistant administrative behavior

Event Curator

Entertainment Specialists

• Assist Event Administrators with their work, train and educate them.
• Refer Enforcement tickets and topics to the appropriate Staff.
• Runs one decently sized pre-announced event a month.

Game Assistant

Standard Staff. Your average admeme.

• Mediates issues between players
• Enforces Server Rules and Policy
• Observes for and reports long-term concerns with Game / Crew Integrity

Event Assistant

Entertainment Staff. Does paperwork for fun.

• First in line for Faxes, Prayers, CentCom Messages, Event staffing, and other IC interactions.
• Runs fun and decent quality events when they feel like it
• Run one (1) large scale Event, with an Announcement to Staff or Crew, once a month.

Project Assistant

Support Staff. Does classically not 'Staff' things.

• Assist their Project Manager with any delegated duties.
• Provide technical insight and council for all other staff.

Trial Staff

The greenmins. These are people who are onboarding for a Standard Staff position. Trial Staff typically hold this rank for ~1 month.

• Become familiar with SOP, VV and other Game Admin tools, and general Community resources and structure
• Adjust to Staff culture and find a place within it
• Find a significant way to contribute to Community or Staff goals once achieving true Staff.
• Report issues with the Trial Staff process

Maintenance Staff

Maintenance Staff are a Standalone branch of Server Administration. They do not report directly to Community Staff, only to the Development Overseer.

Development Overseer

Lead Game Designer

• Code storyboarding
• Delegation of dev work
• Grand Reviewer of Pull Requests
• Keeps the spaghetti on the plate

Sysadmin

Development Specialists.

• Handles general maintenance and quick-fixes for Nova Sector Services
• Assists with Staff technical issues
• Provides insight and consultation regarding technical concerns

Maintainer

Official Developers for Nova Sector

• Provides ongoing dev work and contributions to the Github
• Takes on Bounties and other larger projects
• Keeps things fresh and interesting by expanding the game universe

Committees

Most Committees are led by either a Staff Manager or a Head Admin. Democratic process is commonplace, but the ruling Senior Staff will have the final say.

Committee members are considered Representatives but not Authorities on their topics unless otherwise stated, or unless hard referencing written information that is publicly accessible.

Lore

Led by @Lore Committee Head

Oversees Narrative Design for Nova Sector.

• Composed of both Crew and Staff

Policy

Led by @Policy Head

Oversees Game Policy Design for the Nova Sector Game Server.

• Composed of both Crew and Staff

Wiki

Led by @Head Wiki Maintainer

Participates in the maintenance of the Nova Sector Wiki.

• Composed of both Crew and Staff

Ban Appeals

Reviews any appealed Bans.

• Composed entirely of Administrator+ Staff

Roleplay Events

Designs and executes Roleplay oriented events.

• Reviews completed Roleplay Events for Quality Control
• Composed of both Crew and Staff

Action Events

Designs and executes Action oriented events.

• Reviews completed Action Events for Quality Control
• Composed of Game Assistant+ Staff

Crew

This definition captures all Players that have passed Access Request with the @Crew rank. There are some Senior Crew positions. These positions do not confer Authority.

Mentors

Crew that, by Application, have volunteered to assist and guide other players in experiencing Nova Sector.

Will typically specialize into certain departments or functions.

Comes in two major varieties: Mentors, and Roleplay Mentors.

Nova Stars

Crew that, by Application, have chosen to represent Nova Sector Roleplay and Gameplay Standards.

These Crew are subject to greater scrutiny with their demeanor and quality in game and in the community.

They get a cosmetic role on the Discord and access to special in-game mechanics.

Council of the Stars

Stars that, by occasionally run applications, have elected and been selected to review and self moderate the Nova Stars Project.
