Permanent Incarceration and alternatives

Anyone found guilty of a Grade 6 crime - or someone that's a massive, repeat offender - is eligible for permanent incarceration. However, alternatives exist that may be offered to a prisoner at the sentencing officer's discretion. The sentenced criminal must consent to the alternative punishment - if they are not physically or mentally able to make this decision, you must default to permanent incarceration. If you do not wish to offer the alternatives for whatever reason, you again must default to permanent incarceration.

Alternatives to the permabrig are as follows: Exile with an implant; using the gateway, the mass driver, or the shuttle to lavaland.. Pacification surgery - must be approved by the CMO. Cyborgification - must be approved by the RD.

612	Unauthorized Creation of Station Intelligence To create a station AI without prior authorization.	Placing a positronic brain or MMI into a dormant AI without approval from the Research Director or Captain.	OOC Notes: Only for the consented creation of an AI without approval from a higher up. If you've been forced into a borg or AI shell without consent, ahelp.
712	Malfunctioning Station Intelligence A station intelligence unit that is acting outside of its intended programming, to the detriment of the crew.	A station AI that is obviously malfunctioning. Disregarding its laws, hacking APCs, setting up a forced borging machine, starting the doomsday counter. This is NOT for subverted AI - subverted AI should be attempted to be re-lawed rather than eliminated or captured.	OOC Notes: This is only meant for malf AI rounds. This isn't an excuse to go after the AI and declare war against it because it refused to open a door for you.
205	Impediment of Duty To deliberately - or accidentally but continuously - obstruct impede someone from being able to perform their job or duty on the station.	If someone's actions are keeping someone from being able to work properly. Running back and forth over someone's tile while they try to perform an action, stealing a casualty from a paramedic, and so on. This can only be applied if the crime is committed while someone is actively trying to perform their job at the moment - you can't bonk someone for impediment of duty if they were out in the halls to grab lunch, for example. For security related issues, see Obstruction of Justice. SPECIAL NOTE: This is a charge that can be enforced by a department guard; as someone disturbing their workplace falls under their direct purview. Enforcement is done by detaining and handing off to Security - if available.	OOC Notes: This is likely to be stacked with other crimes. When in doubt of "was the aggrieved party trying to do their job at the time", err on the side of good faith and do not charge for this. This is mostly for people being enough of a nuisance that someone can't do their job with them around.

606	Crimes against Reality Hostile acts or crimes committed with a magical or not yet fully understood artefact.	Attacks against someone with magical weapons, use of magical items in a crime, opening tears in reality. Also applies to unauthorized usage and/or creation of supermatter shard weapons. For weaponization of the primary supermatter crystal, see Grand Sabotage and Grand Theft.	OOC Notes: Primarily charged for magic based crimes. This can also be used for a non-RD that creates or uses supermatter shard weapons.
613	Sapient Brainwashing To influence the mind of another sapient being through forceful coercion.	Altering someone's mental state through the use of some sort of manipulative technique or tool. This is for brainwashing surgery, hypnosis tools, cult conversion, revolutionary heads, and other conversion methods.	OOC Notes: Burden of proof is exceptionally important here, especially considering meta-protections against the perpetrators(memory loss/alteration, victim's testimony should be considered unreliable). Make sure you have evidence of some sort of tool used for the crime - a brainwashing surgical board, conversion rune, and so on. If you believe that the hypnosis or brainwashing is ERP related, ahelp.
113	Blackmail To attempt to coerce someone's otherwise unwilling cooperation by threatening them with sensitive information.	Compromising information of any sort used against someone to coerce another. Even if the compromising information is criminal in nature, it still can't be used against someone in this manner. If the blackmail is successful, the perpetrator may also apply for Obstruction of Justice. SPECIAL NOTE: Victims of blackmail that are implicated in Grade 1 or 2 offenses are to have those specific sentences commuted if they are the ones reporting the blackmail and cooperating with security. Fill out their records appropriately - consider setting their status to suspected afterwards, or even bringing them in as a protective custody.	OOC Notes: Burden of proof is important here - do not bring someone in on blackmail based on a verbal report.
117	Fraud The usage of somebody else's credentials in an unapproved manner.	This can be for a signature used outside of its intended purpose, a departmental stamp used without authorization, someone else's ID used to order goods, and other similar applications.	OOC Notes: None
217	Identity Theft To attempt to pass oneself off as another member of the crew through forged credentials, disguises, or any means.	For instances when someone is clearly pretending to be another person. Fake IDs, chameleon kits, voice changers, and so on. For changelings and morphs, see Hostile Non-Typical Lifeform.	OOC Notes: As an alternative use: If you REALLY want to "go easy" on a changeling that's otherwise been relatively benign, you can apply this charge.

a	Escaping Confinement	You cannot execute someone for escape attempts, unless those attempts result in a crime that would warrant such punishment. If you cannot contain someone, see Incapable of Secure Confinement instead.	Pause the timer and add five minutes. Resume the timer once the criminal is apprehended once again.
b	Assault of an Officer	To be added to any assault charge that involves a member of Security, Command, or Central Command.. For disarming, grabbing, or stunning an officer during an arrest, see Resisting Arrest instead.	Add five minutes.
c	Unauthorized Boarding	Also known as stowaways. Anyone not on the crew manifest(Interdyne, Tarkon, DS2, Fugitives/Hunters, etc) must be authorized by the current commanding officer(Captain or ACO) in order to board. Once given permission to board, they are subject to Corporate Regulations.	Anyone caught on board the station without proper authorization is to be held permanently until the current CO passes judgement on them.
