Community Staff

These are your general Staff. Most Staff positions are captured by this description.

Overseers

The greenmins. These are people who are onboarding for a Standard Staff position. Trial Staff typically hold this rank for ~1 month.

  • Become familiar with SOP, VV and other Game Admin tools, and general Community resources and structure
  • Adjust to Staff culture and find a place within it
  • Find a significant way to contribute to Community or Staff goals once achieving true Staff.
  • Report issues with the Trial Staff process

Maintenance Staff

Maintenance Staff are a Standalone branch of Server Administration. They do not report directly to Community Staff, only to the Development Overseer.

Development Overseer

Lead Game Designer

  • Code storyboarding
  • Delegation of dev work
  • Grand Reviewer of Pull Requests
  • Keeps the spaghetti on the plate

Sysadmin

Development Specialists.

  • Handles general maintenance and quick-fixes for Nova Sector Services
  • Assists with Staff technical issues
  • Provides insight and consultation regarding technical concerns

Maintainer

Official Developers for Nova Sector

  • Provides ongoing dev work and contributions to the Github
  • Takes on Bounties and other larger projects
  • Keeps things fresh and interesting by expanding the game universe

Committees

Most Committees are led by either a Staff Manager or a Head Admin. Democratic process is commonplace, but the ruling Senior Staff will have the final say.

Committee members are considered Representatives but not Authorities on their topics unless otherwise stated, or unless hard referencing written information that is publicly accessible.

Crew

This definition captures all Players that have passed Access Request with the @Crew rank. There are some Senior Crew positions. These positions do not confer Authority.

Mentors

Crew that, by Application, have volunteered to assist and guide other players in experiencing Nova Sector.

Will typically specialize into certain departments or functions.

Comes in two major varieties: Mentors, and Roleplay Mentors.

Nova Stars

Crew that, by Application, have chosen to represent Nova Sector Roleplay and Gameplay Standards.

These Crew are subject to greater scrutiny with their demeanor and quality in game and in the community.

They get a cosmetic role on the Discord and access to special in-game mechanics.

Council of the Stars

Stars that, by occasionally run applications, have elected and been selected to review and self moderate the Nova Stars Project.
